Traditional Christian Wedding Vows

Wedding vows are the words that you speak as you promise your partner that you will be with them and love them no matter what happens in life. They are a very symbolic and significant part of each wedding ceremony. There are so many different styles and ideas of what could be put in a wedding vow. The persons getting married determine whether or not to stick to tradition.

When you speak about traditional Christian wedding vows, you need to remember that no matter how traditional or unique they are they should reflect the shared values of the bride and groom. Faith based wedding vows have endless possibilities.

Some Christian wedding vows are handed down from generation to generation, or are personalized by the bride and groom. Most couples feel very deeply for each other, and want to profess those feelings to the world or at least everyone attending the ceremony. “Before our friends and those so special to us here, on this wonderful day of gladness and good fortune, I ______ take you _______ as my wife/husband, in friendship and in love, in strength and weakness, to share the good times and misfortune, in achievement and failure, to celebrate life with you forevermore”
