Picking a wedding dress body shape romantic classic modern traditional

Maybe you don't look like Pamela Anderson or Naomi Campbell, but this doesn't mean that  you have to look anything else but absolutely wonderful on your wedding day. All you have to do is pick carefully your wedding dress, take care of your make up and hairstyle and be happy. All happy people have an interior glow that makes them more beautiful then he/she may think so.

Before you choose your gown, review the following: is it a formal wedding? A large and traditional one? Or will only family and close friends will attend? Do you like the romantic look? Or you are more of a modern girl? How much are you willing to spend for your bride's gown?

After having the answers to these questions, the most advisable is to talk to a consultant.

There are many bride gown styles: empire, princess, miniskirt, A-line, ballroom, Basque waist, sheath. But the perfect dress will be the one that fits best your body type:

  • If you are the apple body type a corset or full skirts will not be in your advantage. You'd better chose empire style and V-necks.
  • The pear body type should have padded shoulders to create a balance between the top and the bottom.
  • If you belong to hourglass body type don't wear full skirts because they will attract more attention to the hips. You are advantaged by V-necks and strapless dresses.
  • The square body type should use full skirts and padded or oversized sleeves/ shoulders so it creates the illusion of curves.
  • The last body type is inverted. This is not suited for empire waistlines or for slim skirts, but is adequate for full skirts.

Now think of the colour. It doesn't have to be white. You have to think of what best suits the colour of your skin: ivory, white pastel, beige, light blue.

If you want a train, go for a detached one. The longer the train is, the more kilos will have and this can be quite an inconvenient during the reception.

Now you have to choose the veil. You can go for a short veil, a cathedral veil, a chapel veil or an elbow-length one.

According to your gown's style you may or you may not wear gloves.
Your wedding dress should be styled according to the look you want to create for yourself:

  • romantic – definitely a long train
  • classic – a bit conservative, made of satin
  • modern -goes better to the sheath style
  • traditional – princes Diana's style, with big shoulders, a full A-line gown

No matter what you decide for your wedding dress remember you will look great because all brides are nothing but beautiful.
